Around ten years ago when I was in high school I started working on a layout of the complete Dutch railway net in Bahn. I used (physical) maps to determine the location of train stations, and track information found on sporenplan.nl to place all the correct tracks. The map was finished in 2009, and contains all of the Netherlands except for the Rotterdam and Amsterdam harbors to the best of my knowledge at that time: from Hoek van Holland to Vlissingen to Den Helder, Enkhuizen, Nieuweschans, Harlingen Haven, Kerkrade, Bad Bentheim, Zevenaar, etc. Of course it also includes the major stations such as Amsterdam, Utrecht, Rotterdam and Den Haag. The Betuwe route and HSL have been added as well. Getting it up to date should be quite easy.
However, I never found the time or energy to go beyond adding a couple of lines of trains to it. I am wondering if someone would be interested in taking a look at this layout to see if something more can be done with it. It does not contain signals in most places. Some remnants of my tries to add trains to it might exist but should be easy to discard. I spent thousands of hours creating this and it would mean a lot to me if it were useful to somebody and get a second life that way. I can post the map here and give it to anyone who is interested. All I ask in return is that if you end up using it to develop something, you post the results or progress somewhere so I can enjoy it as well.
Reageren in het Nederlands is prima. Ik hoop dat iemand dit leest
